Our story

A short walk from Columbia Road

Rise & Bloom sits on Hackney Road, close enough to Columbia Road Flower Market that Sunday mornings bring a steady stream in from the stalls. Inside it's small — a counter, a handful of tables, subway tile and hanging plants — built for a coffee on the way somewhere, or an hour with a book.

The bakery case turns over through the day: loaves and pastries baked on site, sandwiches and sausage rolls made fresh, a short wine list that comes out in the evening.

"Lovely, cute, cozy corner coffee spot — we found it on the way from the Flower Market on Sunday. Tasty coffee and desserts served by amazing people." Google review

Good to know

A few common questions

Do you take table bookings?+

It's a walk-in counter — no booking system. Tables are first come, first served, and it's quietest outside the Sunday market rush.

Is there anywhere to sit and work?+

There's a handful of tables inside with WiFi and charging points. Ask on the counter if a plug's not obvious.

Do you do takeaway?+

Yes — coffee, pastries and sandwiches all go to take away as well as eat in.

Is the food suitable for vegetarians?+

The counter includes vegetarian sandwiches and bakes alongside the meat options — ask on the day for what's in.

Do you serve wine in the evening?+

A short natural wine list is available by the glass — worth asking what's open on the night.
